2008 Wavecrest Woodie Car Show Moonlight Beach Encinitas Sept. 20
Over 250 classic "woodies" assembled at Moonlight Beach in Encinitas for the annual "Wavecrest Woody Car Show" Sept. 20 2008.
The classic car show features woodies of all kinds from the 30's, 40's 50's and 60's.
"These cars are one of a kind and many of the owners still take them down to the beach and use them as surf vehicles", said Donovan Mario a local Southern California resident and woodie owner.
"These are the cars from the "Endless Summer" era and earlier and they represent the Southern California lifestyle"!
For many of the owners and onlookers, this is the "best" woodie show in the country.
"Yes we are the largest woodie show in the USA, but we also want to provide the best location and organize activities for the car owners to do while they are here", commented Rick Nelson a local volunteer.
This event is actually a 4 day event and a real good time for car owners to get together and learn more about their cars and woodie car history.
