The Pelicans at La Jolla Cove
Every weekend by around 9am you will see a flock of photographers assembling tripods and setting up camera equipment at "Pelican Rock" in La Jolla Cove.
This spot is home to normally 50-100 Southern California based pelicans who like to groom themselves and lay in the nice morning and afternoon sun.
Amongst the pelicans are a host of other birds and marine mammals including seagulls and harbor seals, who share the space and all co-exist in a very relaxed and happy manner.
There is nothing more fun on a sunny day than taking a walk along the La Jolla Cove area and taking in the large amount of wildlife living along the coast.
Since the La Jolla area is well known for scenic sidewalks and great picture taking, it is well worth a visit when you are looking for something to do in the area.
